Obviously, Mr. Thomas-Jensen is still looking for smart. Sadly, his quest seems to be in vain; he is a model citizen in a world of stupid.
More than that, he is a poster child for ignorance and intolerance, a common ailment among inhabitants to quasi-intellectual echo chambers.
No, Mr. Thomas-Jensen, I did not read anything from an NRA pamphlet. While this may be unheard-of to someone who clearly lives off predigested pap, I actually do my own research. Have done this for years.
I can also speak as one who has been in law enforcement. Perhaps Mr. Thomas-Jensen might like to ride along with a real law enforcement officer for a shift or two to learn what it's like. However, that might produce cognitive dissonance and we wouldn't want that.
No, Mr. Thomas-Jensen, I don't live in a small, white town. I live in one of the most diverse major cities in the United States. In fact, virtually all of my 70 years have been in or around large cities.
I did not engage in ad hominem insults in my response to the original article. I did, however, disagree and I pointed out some of the reasons for my position.
You, on the other hand, are a jackass and your intolerance is not one whit better than that of the white supremacists. And I will be more than happy to say it to your face, loudly, in the middle of Main Street. I have never required a gun to do my talking and I seriously doubt I would need one now.
Besides, that would imply that I thought you were worth the price of a bullet.
