I was there when Whitman was shooting. You could hear the shots from my grandmother’s house on Speedway.

A few years later, I was in law enforcement and I knew some of the officers who were involved in the Tower incident. They were older than me so I don’t know how many of them are still around.

Revisionism isn’t going to play well with people who remember the incident.

By the way, most of the shots Whitman made were with the Remington 700 ADL rifle. At least one of his kills was at a range of more than 500 yards, well outside of the effective range of the M1 carbine. Whitman had the carbine at the end because it was more maneuverable than the bigger Remington and was semi-automatic.
