I have only one question for Mr. DeVore and all of the others who insist on belittling the observance of 9/11:
Just exactly what did the deaths, the heroism, the sacrifice of all those lives, have to do with the incursions into Iraq and Afghanistan? What did they have to do with the Patriot Act, which has been kept going by three administrations, two Democrat and one Republican, since the Bush administration?
In case you are too damn stupid or self-centered to figure it out, the answer is nothing. That's right: NOTHING. Not then; not 20 years later.
On September 11, we remember and honor those who died, those who suffered, and those who suffer still. The day exists independently of what followed.
Mr. DeVore apparently thinks it's somehow appropriate to besmirch and minimize the event and thousands of lives, although, for the life of me, I can't imagine why. Perhaps my soul isn't sufficiently bereft of compassion and humanity - something for which I will be eternally grateful.
