After reading and responding to literally hundreds of virtually identical polemics like this, I have had enough.

The curiously well-funded, well-organized “activism” of the Parkland students bore no relationship to the factors determined to be the real enablers of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. In fact, the movement “led” by David Hogg & Co. dismissed those factors; even giving Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Scot Peterson’s conduct a free pass because the shooter had a rifle. The Florida commission created to investigate the Parkland shooting described Peterson’s response as “abysmal” and the chairman of the committee, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, called Peterson a “wuss.”

As for the impact they may have had on Millennials, more members of that cohort believe the Parkland groups made an impact than other generations. However, Millennials are actually somewhat less prone to support the gun control agenda than other generations.

Please explain in detail what measures you think would work and why you think they would work. Please keep in mind that none of the measures currently proposed have ever been shown to have an impact on crime or acts such as mass or spree killings. Nor have they made it noticeably more difficult for criminals to obtain firearms. Studies by both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Rand Corporation were unable to determine a link between gun laws and violence.
