I have only one question for Mr. DeVore and all of the others who insist on belittling the observance of 9/11:

Just exactly what did the deaths, the heroism, the sacrifice of all those lives, have to do with the incursions into Iraq and Afghanistan? What did they have to do with the Patriot Act, which has been kept going by three administrations, two Democrat and one Republican, since the Bush administration?

In case you are too damn stupid or self-centered to figure it out, the answer is nothing. That's right: NOTHING. Not then; not 20 years later.

On September…

Biden’s agenda is in trouble and not just in the Senate.

Caren White’s article about Second Amendment Sanctuaries made me tackle a topic I have been meaning to address for some time: How is gun control faring away from the media and the Coasties who love it?

To be blunt, it’s not going well for them. Surprisingly, it appears they don’t even realize it.

Ms. White noted the number of immigration sanctuary states. As of now, there are more Second Amendment Sanctuary states and the odds are good that more will be added.

You apparently overlooked a few things.

The human physiology does require some gravity or similar force to function properly. But does it invariably require an acceleration of 9.8m/sec/sec? If not, what fraction of that would be acceptable while assuring proper functioning?

A possible solution might be something proposed about 40 years ago: the O'Neill Colony. More of a habitat than what people envision as a spaceship, an O'Neill Colony resolves many of the issues raised in your article.

The population could be large enough to handle psychological issues and provide the diversity, order and security of a society. This also…

Ted Millar’s article “Another Day in America Means Another Mass Shooting” was simply the latest installment of the Medium echo chamber’s campaign of self-righteous whining by people too lazy to actually examine what they are saying.

Mr. Millar, like so many others, is content to parrot the numbers generated by people with an agenda like his own.

But let’s look at those numbers. I don’t have all the incidents for 2021 compiled yet, but I do have them for 2020. In order to make them easy to understand, I created an illustration.

11 states with strong gun laws accounted for…

I watched the House committee hearings, the House debate, the Senate Committee hearings, and the Senate debate.

Apparently Ms. Golden wasn't paying attention to anything but testimony that fit her prejudices. Because there was a lot of testimony in favor of constitutional (permitless) carry. From men, women, whites, blacks, civilians, and working law enforcement officers.

The "overwhelming majority" cited by Ms. Golden comes from a rigged survey that posed questions in a manner to elicit a preferred response. Another study, cited by certain groups associated with Michael Bloomberg, was actually funded and commissioned by one of those groups.

The Texas…

I am the reader who thought firing a gun was natural. Actually, I am the reader who still thinks firing a gun is natural.

I am sorry that you learned only one thing from your military service. I find it even more regretful that the only thing you learned was incorrect.

The "gun-obsessed?" It seems to me that you and your ilk are far more obsessed with them than gun owners. You fantasize about them; you fetishize them; you practically foam at the mouth about them.

I will confess, though, you're fun to watch.

The proposed action in Oklahoma, as well as similar actions in a number of other states, is well within the bounds of the Constitution.

While it does challenge executive orders and acts of Congress, some of which are demonstrable overreach according to the powers delegated to the President and Congress, including those listed in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution, the actual bill says the state will ask for an exemption (presumably in conjunction with filing a lawsuit in federal court to have the actions declared unconstitutional) but the only action the state will take is to refuse to…

My wonderful wife came in and talked to me the other day. She had just seen a holiday commercial in which a wife presented her husband with a $50,000 GMC pickup truck for Christmas after the husband gave her a dog. That seems wrong on so many levels but this article focuses on one particular aspect.

I had just read that Wall Street had its best month since 1987, rising nearly 11% in November on its way to a record close above 30,000.

Meanwhile, millions of Americans were wondering if there was even going to be a Christmas or if…

If Biden is a dream for you, Barrett could be a dream-come-true for gun owners

Judge Amy Coney Barrett is now Madame Justice Barrett, the newest member of the Supreme Court. She joins Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Clarence Thomas on the conservative side of the bench. Associate Justice Thomas is the one who administered the judicial oath of office, the final step needed for her to take her seat on the bench.

A lot of people consider Chief Justice John Roberts to be a conservative and there is a lot of talk about a 6–3 conservative majority, but those people and such talk doesn’t include gun owners. It’s widely believed that the…

Today, August fifth marks a day that might have some meaning for those of us who are at that stage of life where long-range planning is something we should have done decades ago.

One of the most iconic vehicles in the late 1960s was the Volkswagen Microbus. It was the aspirational countercultural vehicle; one that Detroit seemingly couldn’t beat, outlasting the Chevy Corvair Greenbrier, the Ford Falcon Club Wagon, and the Dodge A100 Sportsman. Come to think of it, it outlasted the Corvair.

All of those hippie vans trace their ancestry back to a sketch by Ben Pons, who imported…
